The PhD Guide Workshop is a specialised 3-day professional development program designed for PhD holders, faculty members, aspiring PhD guides, research supervisors, HoDs, Deans, IQAC members and academic leaders who wish to strengthen their capability to guide research scholars with clarity, structure and academic responsibility.
The program focuses on the complete doctoral supervision journey — from topic selection, research problem development, literature review guidance and methodology review to academic writing, plagiarism control, thesis structuring, scholar progress monitoring, publication support and viva readiness.
Many PhD holders possess strong subject knowledge but may not have received formal training in how to guide another scholar through the complex PhD journey. This workshop bridges that gap by offering practical frameworks, templates, review formats, supervision models and mentoring tools that help participants become more effective and confident doctoral guides.
The workshop combines conceptual learning, case discussions, practical exercises, supervision checklists and scholar-review templates. Participants will learn how to manage guide-scholar expectations, review thesis chapters, handle research delays, maintain ethical standards, provide constructive feedback and support scholars toward timely completion.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to design a structured PhD supervision plan, evaluate research topics, guide literature review and methodology, monitor scholar progress, improve thesis quality and prepare scholars for final submission and viva voce.
After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
