About Scratchem

Betting and iCasino GGR rose to €151.6 million from €146.5 million. Growth in iCasino resulted from an expanded game catalogue and a rapid expansion of live casino offerings.

Veikkaus’ international B2B subsidiary, Fennica Gaming, continued rapid expansion in H1 2026, with revenue increasing by 80.6% to €10.3 million from €5.7 million in the previous year.

This growth reflects the launch of eInstants and iCasino products across various markets, including Italy, Canada, parts of Germany, Mexico, the Czech Republic and Iceland.

The DSWV said the findings should prompt a thorough reassessment of official black market size estimates in Germany.

The DOCV, another trade body representing licensed online casino operators in Germany, also expressed support for the prosecutorial efforts. However, it emphasised that the raid exposed regulatory gaps which had allowed organised crime to flourish.

Kevin O’Neal, a DOCV board member, argued the scale of the investigation calls the GGL’s broader black market estimates into question. He cited the regulator’s 2025 activity report, which put the 2024 share at 23% (€547 million in gross gaming revenue), against Nielsen data suggesting a share of around 56%.

How to play Scratchem

The approach also suits Spinomenal’s release rhythm. The provider ships titles at a steady clip across multiple themes at once, and a repeatable template makes that schedule far more sustainable over time. A useful shortcut, in other words.

Rather than building each slot from scratch, the studio appears to lean on recognizable frameworks it can dress in new themes. 3 Aztec Spells reads as another application of that model, not a departure from it.

Aztec is one of the most heavily worked themes in the world of online gambling, and Spinomenal is far from alone in returning to it. The setting offers the gold, temple, and idol imagery that has long anchored adventure-styled reel design.
